Onboarding guide
Onboard Patricia the right way.
The steps we walk every agency through, in eight short guides. Lesson videos are on the way. Share it with your team: every teammate can follow it on their own.
Before you start
This guide is for teams that already have Patricia in Slack, or in Microsoft Teams (in beta), and can sign in at console.patricia.app. It takes you from an empty desk to a Patricia that works for your whole team. Each guide is short, stands on its own, and ends with messages you can copy straight into her DM.
Where to start
You set Patricia up
Guides 01 to 05, in order. Then send guide 06 to everyone you invite.
A teammate invited you
Guide 06 first, then 02 and 03.
You live in Claude or ChatGPT
Guide 07, any time after guide 01.
Something lands in the wrong place
Guide 08 shows where each instruction belongs.

How to talk to her
Before any of the guides, the basics of asking. These five cover most of it.
Keep it short
One or two sentences beat a paragraph. She asks when she needs more.
Start with a verb
Draft, summarise, find, check. Verb first makes the ask unmissable.
One ask per line
Three things? Three lines. Nothing gets buried.
Plan first for big work
Ask for the plan before the work, and say go when it looks right.
Correct, do not retry
Tell her the rule, starting with "From now on", instead of asking again in other words.
Your first week
One job, set up properly, beats ten set up halfway. Here is a week that gets her first job running without you.
- Day 1
Pick her first job. Connect the tools it needs and set writes to ask first.
- Day 2
Teach her one standing rule and turn one good piece of work into a skill.
- Day 3
Try the first job once, then put it on a schedule. Connect your calendar so she joins your meetings.
- Day 4
Bring your team in, give her channels of her own, and send guide 06 to every teammate.
05 Your team and her channels · 06 Your first day as a teammate
- Day 5
Check the one thing that matters: did her first job happen without you?
Common first-week mistakes
| Mistake | Do this instead |
|---|---|
| Connecting every tool on day one | Connect what her first job needs. Add the rest when a task asks for it. |
| Starting ten jobs at once | Set up one job properly, then add the next. |
| Asking again in other words | Tell her the rule, starting with "From now on". |
| Expecting her to read channels she is not in | Invite her to the channels where the work happens. |
| One big Patricia channel for everything | Team work goes in its own channel. Your own work stays in her DM. |
| Leaving Write on Always allow in week one | Set Write to Always ask until she has earned it. |
