Your first day as a teammate
Your company already has Patricia. Someone invited you, or she said hello in Slack. Here is what to do on your first day. If you were invited as a member, you will not need an admin for any of it.

Until then, the steps below cover everything in it.
Step by step
- 1
Sign in
Go to console.patricia.app and choose Continue with Slack or Continue with Microsoft Teams. Got an invitation email? Use the link in it.
- 2
Set your own approvals
Settings, My approvals. Reads usually run without asking. Writes run on their own by default, but an action that sends something to other people through a connected tool, like an email, asks you first. Critical actions always ask unless you change that. For your first week, set Write to Always ask.
- 3
Connect your own tools
Start with your email and calendar, so she can brief you on your day and join your meetings. What you connect is yours: she uses it only for you. With an API key, what she does in that tool usually shows as you. Team tools are an admin's job; when someone shares a connection with you, she lets you know in a DM.
- 4
Tell her what you do
Open her DM and tell her two things: what you do, and the one thing you want off your plate first. Then hand her that one thing as a real task.
- 5
Read her signals
A reaction on your message means she is on it. A card with Approve and Deny means she is waiting for you; it also waits in the console under Tasks, Approvals. Reply in the thread to correct her, and mention her in any channel she is in.
How to ask her
Keep it short. Start with a verb. One ask per line. For anything big, ask for a plan first and say go when it looks right. When she gets something wrong, tell her the rule, starting with "From now on", instead of asking again.
Try these in her DM
Copy one, fill in the brackets, and send it.
I work on the [client] account. The first thing I want off my plate is [job].
Check #[client channel] and my inbox for new feedback since yesterday, and list what I must answer today.
