New to Patricia?

One AI coworker, inside your Slack.

Patricia does the marketing, sales, ops, and finance work your team never gets to, in the tools you already use. She remembers your company. Every email, post or message she drafts waits for your yes, and by default so does every change and every spend.

Two different responsibilities

Keep a knowledge library, delegate the follow-through, or do both.

A knowledge workspace you control

Obsidian is a strong choice for an agency that wants to own its files and design its own knowledge system.

Local MarkdownLinked notesGraph and CanvasShared vaultsPlugins and CLI

Your team decides how knowledge gets captured, reviewed and connected to other tools.

A coworker for the recurring work

Patricia uses shared context to answer the team and prepare work across connected client accounts.

Client questionsMeeting follow-upsClient reportsScheduled checksDrafts for approval

People still own client judgment, review and the rules for what she can access and do.

An illustrative agency workflow

Follow a client decision from the call to the handoff.

A social media agency runs strategy, content production, creator campaigns and monthly reporting. Here is how the same handoff could work in each setup, rather than a claim about a customer’s results.

A client changes the campaign brief

With Obsidian

Save the decision in the client note and link it to the brief. A person or a configured capture workflow keeps it current.

With Patricia

Ask Patricia to summarize the decision from an accessible call or thread, with the original context available for review.

A colleague takes over the account

With Obsidian

Open the client vault and follow the linked notes. The handoff is as complete as the material the team has maintained.

With Patricia

Ask for a handoff covering the decisions and open work she can access, then verify it with the account owner.

The decision needs a task and a client update

With Obsidian

Track it in notes or use an extension or external integration to move it into the project workflow.

With Patricia

Ask for a task in a supported project tool and a follow-up draft. Review the action before it is carried out under your approval rules.

Keep the project tool as the task record. Test the workflow with your actual sources and permissions before relying on it for a client. Obsidian can remain the authored library; a live vault connection to Patricia needs to be confirmed separately.

The detail

The differences that decide it.

A useful client answer depends on more than the last saved note.

Patricia

Ask what was agreed on a client call or why a previous decision was made. Patricia brings together the context she can access from calls, channels and files, so a colleague can ask without knowing which document to open. Keep important facts corrected and check consequential answers against their sources.

Obsidian

Obsidian makes a thoughtful client library possible: linked briefs, meeting notes, research and decisions in portable files. Its value depends on what your team records and maintains. Plugins and external automation can help capture and retrieve that information.

Check who can see the knowledge before putting clients in it.

Patricia

Choose which connections stay personal and which are shared with the team, and use client channels for the work. Shared agency memory is not a promise of separate, sealed memory for every client. Confirm the access design and meeting recap audience before bringing confidential client information into the workflow.

Obsidian

Obsidian supports shared vaults, so it is a real option for teams. Its collaboration documentation says fine-grained permissions are not supported: collaborators can access and edit the shared vault. Use separate vaults where different groups need different access, and plan how to maintain knowledge across them.

Choose who will maintain the path from a decision to a finished task.

Patricia

Once a workflow is set up, Patricia can prepare a client update, create tasks in supported project tools and draft reports from connected marketing accounts. Outbound drafts wait for approval; changes and spend do too by default. Meeting recap emails are an exception: they go to invitees by default, and you can narrow the audience or switch them off.

Obsidian

Obsidian's CLI supports scripting, automation and integration with external tools, and community plugins can add more. That is useful when someone on the team wants to build the workflow. Budget for choosing the components, testing them and keeping the result working, rather than treating an empty vault as a ready-made operations system.

Local files and a hosted coworker involve different privacy choices.

Patricia

Patricia processes the context needed to do the work in a hosted service, with primary storage in the United States. Her published security terms describe access controls, audit logs and no model training on your data. Review the DPA and subprocessors against your clients' requirements; she is not an offline or end-to-end-encrypted vault.

Obsidian

Local storage, offline access and open file formats are genuine Obsidian strengths. Sync adds end-to-end encryption. Community plugins inherit Obsidian's access and can reach local files and the internet, so review the plugins and any AI provider they use before putting sensitive client data through them.

Keep the project system and test one knowledge-to-action workflow.

Patricia

Start with a client handoff or a recurring report that currently needs someone to gather context. Keep your project tool as the record of tasks and your accountant's system as the record of invoices. Confirm each required integration during onboarding; an invoicing connector should be tested before it becomes part of a business-critical process.

Obsidian

Start with a shared client vault and a clear owner for its structure and upkeep. Test what happens when two people edit a note, when someone leaves and when a client requires restricted access. Obsidian can remain the team's authored library even if you later add an AI coworker for operational work.

Which one is yours

Different jobs. Pick the one that fits your team.

Choose Patricia when…

  • People need answers and follow-through in Slack, rather than another knowledge app to maintain.
  • The work spans calls, project tools and marketing accounts, with recurring outputs to prepare.
  • You want a managed AI coworker, and you are comfortable reviewing hosted processing, permissions and usage-based work.

Choose Obsidian when…

  • Local ownership, offline access and portable Markdown are the main requirements.
  • Your team wants to write, link and curate its own knowledge system.
  • Someone can own the vault structure, sharing model and any plugins or automation.

Nothing to migrate. Just start.

1

Keep the library you value

Keep useful notes where they are. Pick the documents and context you want to bring into a first Patricia workflow, rather than migrating every file.

2

Define one handoff

Choose a recurring output, its sources and the person who checks it. Confirm the connectors and access boundaries before using real client data.

3

Check the result together

Review the answer, task or report against the original information. Expand only when the team trusts the result and understands what it costs.

Common questions

Questions agencies ask about Patricia and Obsidian

Can Obsidian be a company second brain?

Yes. Teams can maintain linked knowledge in shared vaults using Obsidian Sync. The question is whether the team wants to maintain a knowledge library or delegate recurring work too. Check shared-vault permissions, co-editing limitations and the upkeep of extensions against your needs.

Does Obsidian work with AI and automation?

It can be extended. Obsidian has a plugin ecosystem, an API and a CLI for scripting and external integrations. An AI or automation setup adds its own components, data processing and maintenance. Compare the complete setup you would run with Patricia, rather than claiming Obsidian cannot do automation.

Can we use Patricia and Obsidian together?

Yes, as separate parts of the team's workflow: Obsidian for authored notes, Patricia for shared questions and operational follow-through. Agree how selected files will be shared or imported. Do not assume a native live Obsidian vault connection or automatic two-way synchronization; confirm that path during onboarding.

Which one is cheaper?

The core Obsidian app is free, including at work. Sync and Publish are optional paid services. Patricia's $45/month workspace plan includes every seat and 20,000 monthly credits, with optional top-ups. They pay for different jobs, so include any plugins, AI subscriptions and maintenance in the setup you actually need.

Will Patricia replace our project or accounting software?

Keep those systems as the records for tasks, time and invoices. Patricia can help with work around supported tools. A specific integration or accounting sync needs its own validation; buying an AI coworker does not by itself solve a migration or guarantee a custom connector.

How should we evaluate a second brain for client work?

Try a real handoff: find the last client decision, show its source, prepare a task and draft the follow-up for review. Check who can access each part, how corrections are made and who maintains the process. Choose the setup your team will actually keep using.
