Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
For the “Patricia App” extension. Last updated on August 9, 2026.
The short version
This extension reads a page only when you click its icon on that page, it converts the page on your own computer, and it sends nothing anywhere. There is no account, no server, and no analytics.
What it reads, and when
When you click the icon, Chrome grants the extension one-time access to that single tab. The extension then reads that page's text so it can convert it to Markdown. If you selected text first, it saves only your selection, plus the page's title and description, which go in the file header. Access ends when you leave the tab.
It has no permission to read any other page, it never runs in the background, and it cannot read a page you did not click on. It asks for three permissions and no more: activeTab, to read the one page you clicked on; scripting, to run the converter inside that page; and downloads, to hand you the file.
Where the text goes
Into the Markdown file you save, or onto your clipboard when you choose Copy. Both stay on your computer. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser.
What it stores
Two settings, in your browser's local storage: the folder name used in a clip's path, and the scope label. Nothing else is stored, and neither setting leaves your machine.
What it never does
- It sends no page content, no browsing history, and no personal data to us or anyone.
- It contains no analytics, no trackers, and no advertising.
- It loads no remote code. Its converter and fonts are bundled in the package.
- It makes no network requests. The converter it bundles is a general-purpose open-source library that is able to fetch extra detail from a handful of sites; this extension disables that explicitly and never calls it.
- It does not sell or share data, because it never collects any.
- It does not read pages in the background or on a schedule.
If you visit our website
The link in the extension carries a campaign tag, so patricia.app can tell that a visit came from the extension. That is ordinary website analytics after you arrive, and it identifies the extension, not you. What you do on our site is covered by our main Privacy Policy.
