Coffee chats that run themselves.
Patricia pairs teammates across teams, posts the intro with an icebreaker, and follows up until the chat actually happens. Opt in once, meet someone new every round.
☕ New round! Ricardo, you're paired with Thibaut this week. Say hi and grab 20 minutes, I can find a slot that works for you both.
💬 Icebreaker for the two of you: "What's one thing you're learning right now?" Enjoy the chat!

@Pati find us 20 minutes on Thursday.
Done. Thursday 9:30, both calendars were free, invite sent. That makes 15 of 18 pairs met this round.
The old way
How teams do this today.
Everyone agrees the team should talk more. The machinery for making that happen usually dies by round three.
The pairing spreadsheet
Someone in ops draws names, posts the pairs, and chases people to actually book something. It survives exactly as long as their enthusiasm does.
The single-purpose pairing bot
A dedicated coffee-chat bot does the drawing, but charges per user per month, and pairing people is the only thing it will ever do for you.
The chat that never happens
The intro gets posted and both people mean to book it. Nobody follows up, the week fills, and the round quietly dies in the channel.
Inside Patricia
What it looks like when she owns it.

Setup
Running in minutes, then it's hers.
Step 1
Add Patricia to Slack
She joins your workspace like any teammate. Two minutes, no engineering.
Step 2
Install the Coffee Chats skill
One click in her skills catalog. No extra tool, no extra login, nothing new to roll out.
Step 3
Pick a format and a channel
Random coffee, a lottery, or mentor and mentee. Choose the channel, the cadence, and the group size once.
Step 4
She runs every round
Pairing, intros, icebreakers, reminders, and follow-up. She asks each person to opt in first and never messages anyone without your OK.
Coffee chats
What she takes off your plate.
Real behavior of the skill, not a feature list.
Opt-in, never pushy
She DMs each teammate to join, and anyone can say maybe later or pause. Nobody gets paired who didn't ask to be.
Pairs across teams
Random pairing across the channels you pick, so design finally meets growth instead of the same three desk neighbors.
Three formats built in
Random coffee for the whole team, a lottery for coffee with the CEO, and mentor and mentee pairing for structured knowledge sharing.
Icebreakers that land
Pick from 50+ conversation starters or write your own, and every intro goes out in your team's voice with your signature.
Finds the time
The pairing post offers to find a slot, and when a pair says yes she books 20 minutes both calendars can actually keep.
Knows who actually met
Every round tracks met, scheduling, and snoozed per pair, so you see the met rate instead of guessing whether the ritual works.
Say it like you'd say it
Things to ask her on day one.
Install the Coffee Chats skill and run it in #general
Start a monthly coffee lottery with the founders
Pair the design and growth teams every two weeks
Switch the icebreakers to a deeper questions pack
Who hasn't met their coffee match this round?
Keep going
One skill down. She has more.
Patricia's value compounds when the whole workflow lives with her, not just one job.
Patricia + Slack
Where the opt-in, the pairing, and the icebreakers land. No new surface to adopt.
FAQ
Coffee chats, answered.
How does the pairing work?
Each round she randomly pairs the people who opted in, across the channels you chose, and posts the intro with an icebreaker. You set the cadence and group size once; every round after that is hers.
Can people opt out or take a break?
Yes. Joining starts with a DM where anyone can say maybe later, and a teammate can pause or snooze at any time. Snoozed people simply skip the round, and she never messages anyone without your OK.
What formats does it support?
Random coffee that pairs teammates across teams, a lottery that picks a few winners to meet a leader, and mentor and mentee pairing for structured knowledge sharing. You can run several programs at once in different channels.
Can we customize the intros and icebreakers?
Pick from 50+ conversation starters or write fully custom messages in your team's voice. You also control how she signs the intros and when they go out.
Does she actually get the chat scheduled?
The intro offers to find a time, and when a pair takes her up on it she checks both calendars and sends the invite. The hub then tracks which pairs met, so the ritual doesn't quietly die.
What does it cost per user?
Nothing per user. Coffee Chats is a skill included with Patricia, so there is no per-seat fee the way standalone pairing bots charge. It runs on your workspace plan like everything else she does.
